Our focus is simple but meaningful, from our distribution centers to our offices — every employee of C&S and their family of companies works to help feed local families, neighbors, and communities.

As the Vice President, Distribution Operations (VPDO), you will be responsible for overseeing the operations function of one or more warehouses in a region/geography. Each distribution center will be either a dry, frozen, perishable, or GMHBC grocery facility and will service a variety of customers across the geography. Locations may be either a union or non-union workforce.

As a VPDO, you will collaborate with Transportation and Customer Solutions leadership to deliver annual targets in the areas of safety, quality, service, and profitability. You will work collaboratively across the internal organization while at the same time engaging with a variety of leaders (including senior executives) in the CPG and grocery retail industry.

You Will Contribute By

• Owning the development, leadership, and execution of the operational strategic plan, including project selection, resource management, and technology innovation.

• Assisting in vetting and prioritizing projects, determining 3rd party partners, and soliciting innovative strategies for the company.

• Collaborating with Customer Experience & Business Development teams to identify new business opportunities, ensuring the future pipeline for growth is healthy. Identifying new ways to help the C&S Family of Companies execute the SGP and deliver expectations.

• Constantly assessing if the team has the right structure and personnel to support the business. Ensuring that the right processes are in place for development plans and succession planning.

• Being a developer and exporter of talent for the rest of the organization. Be a coach and mentor, enabling the development of current and next-generation leaders.

• Supporting execution of daily operational activities across multiple sites, supporting a variety of customers and their needs. Ensure all business processes are successfully executed to include daily, weekly, and monthly continuous improvement venues.

• Being a solution provider and a partner to address operational concerns and/or inefficiencies. Guiding leaders to execute actions ensuring delivery of the company's long-term strategic plan.

• Mentoring project leaders to develop business cases and expected return on investments for larger scale projects. Leveraging metrics and analytic tools to allocate resources against the right work. Effectively communicating current processes and future solution recommendations as needed.

• Working closely with Customer Experience & Business Development teams on a variety of issues, including new business opportunities, operational execution, customer concerns, talent planning, etc.

• Delivering year-over-year improvements across a variety of Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for CPG and grocery Retailers and within the internal C&S organization. Actively engaging in business reviews with partners while collaborating with them to improve performance.

• Engaging with partners across the company to provide insight and support as needed to achieve operational and synergy expectations.

• Positively representing the company brand as the head of Operations internally and externally.

• Supporting C&S Family of Companies and Chief Supply Chain Officer with strategic initiatives as needed.

• Travel Required

We’re Searching for Candidates With

• 7-10 years of proven successful third-party logistics and/or CPG leadership. Wholesale operations and understanding are a plus.

• 15+ years working in progressive leadership roles providing executive guidance and mentorship, preferably in a Supply Chain Operations role in warehousing, transportation, and/or manufacturing.

• Specialized Knowledge: Supply Chain Operations, Warehouse Automation, WMS, TMS, etc.

• The ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality when required.

• Strong leadership and management skills through a direct and matrixed organization.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
