Position Overview
To economically maintain all equipment to ensure it operates efficiently and properly to the highest standards. To keep the plant operational and safe at all times.
Job Description
Ensure that all refrigeration equipment, cargo moving equipment, building area, security systems, and fire alarm are operating in an efficient and safe manner
Perform general repairs and maintenance on building and grounds
Perform preventive maintenance on machinery on a scheduled basis and take corrective actions to avoid down time
Maintain communication with other departments, assist in planning, policy procedure, goals, and objectives
Schedule outside maintenance vendors and retrieve bids for such work
Maintain the shop and engine room’s sanitation levels by keeping the areas neat and orderly
Test and maintain coolant tower water
Functions as leader of emergency response procedures
Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays that may be required to complete the tasks in a timely manner
Maintain and record facility Process Safety and Risk Management Plans
Train and do renewal training as required by all Local, State and Federal agencies for all facility personnel. Maintain all training records at facility level
Keep facility in compliance with all Local, State, and Federal regulations as they apply to our industry
Communicate and maintain a pre-emergency plan with the Local Fire Department and the Local LEPC
Ability to effectively coordinate with outside contractors, vendors, and government agencies in order to maintain the safety of the associates within the facility.
Must be able to interact courteously and tactfully with managers, co-workers, customers and/or vendors to the point that productivity and morale are positively affected.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Effectively supervise and instruct the maintenance staff.
Train warehouse personnel and adjudicate disciplinary and grievance issues according to company policy.
Work cooperatively with each department in order to assist in planning policy procedure, goals, and objectives.
Must train and motivate employees to work in a safe manner, lead by example.
Must investigate accidents and near misses in a timely and efficient manner.
Incidents must be reported promptly to direct supervisor.
Maintain a zero tolerance for safety violations.
Job Conditions:
Must be able to wear a respirator as required
Must have visual acuity and manual dexterity
Must be able to stand, bend, squat, walk, push, pull and twist repetitively
Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Must be able to work unusual hours and respond to on-service calls
Must be able to withstand cold and freezing temperatures from -20 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit
Must be able to withstand loud noise
Job Requirements:
Must have a high school diploma.
Must have previous experience in ammonia refrigeration and lift truck maintenance or similar areas.
Ability to read, write, perform basic math computations, identify, and verify numbers by paying close attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment
Ability to use computer skills to assist with all training and recordkeeping responsibilities to include, Excel, and Microsoft Word
