Position Overview

The primary purpose of this position is to manage the Warehouse Racking Systems Inspection, Maintenance, repair and Replacement Program (combined contractor & in-house personnel). Manage the Racking Repair and Inspection Training Program. Plan capital racking projects, bid out and administer related constructionManage racking system repairs across C&S network Develop and improve corporate policies/procedures (i.e., In House Racking Inspection/ Load Rating of Racking Systems)

• Manage and improve the Racking System Inspection and Repair Programs (having both contractor and internal facilities maintenance personnel components).

• Manage the bid process; evaluate bids and execute contracts. Manage vendors and track internal compliance to ensure all inspections are completed. Provide functional and technical knowledge required to maintain racking system's compliance with state, local, federal and insurance requirements. Review internal site inspection reports to prioritize deficiencies/recommendations and work with individual facilities to resolve deficiencies. Insure all racking assets are identified as assets and inspected in Maximo.

• Assist with reviewing design specifications, technical requirements and scope of work for Racking Capital Projects. Manage racking installations, renovations, repairs and re-profile's to ensure that the specification is being adhered to in order to be compliant with the applicable codes and standards. Work collaboratively with the property insurance company, engineers and local/state authorities-having-jurisdiction to ensure compliance. Provide budgetary project estimates: including meeting with existing and new vendors to obtain estimates for projects, ensuring that scope of work is in line with project initiatives and applicable codes. Co-develop capital projects as required to manage assets related to rack systems.

• Continue to develop, enhance, schedule and oversee the Rack Inspection Training Program administered by Internal Personnel (train the trainer). Plan, schedule and oversee onsite training for Operations, Safety and Maintenance personnel. Provide ongoing high level training to Facilities Maintenance Regional Directors.

• Assist with insurance carrier (e.g., FM Global) inspection schedules. Attend inspections to support local maintenance personnel as needed.

• Assist in drafting or reviewing responses with EHS regarding rack issues if needed with governmental or regulatory agencies.

• Assist with drafting or reviewing corporate programs/policies related to Rack System Repairs, Maintenance and Inspection.

Skills

• Specialized Knowledge : Specialized Knowledge Needed For Performance of Job: Extensive Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Word experience.

• Special Skills : Special Skills: Practical Application or Engineering of Racking Systems Other: Manufacturer's and Technical Training Courses

• Physical abilities: : Moderate travel (50% maximum anticipated) for site inspections, system inspections, insurance loss control surveys, training, assessment of repairs, all which require good mobility, physical exertion, walking, bending, reaching and climbing ladders.

• Education (Minimum needed): : Rack Installation, Maintenance, Inspection, Structural design, or equivalent combination of formal training and related experience.

• Experience (Minimum needed): : 8-10 years, Industrial rack construction, repair, and inspection experience. Asset Management experience and project management experience.
